 Denbigh’s Got Talent

January 2020 was the month dedicated to the arts in Denbigh. Heads of Drama, Art and Media presented an arts assembly to all years highlighting the qualities of the arts that are valued by employers, potential careers and the qualities that are for life, learning and employment. Drama ran a number of inter-house activities, improvisation competitions, arts quiz and Denbigh’s Got Talent where Key Stage 3 students figured largely in auditions displaying particular talents in singing and dancing where two acts of each got to the final which was held in the school hall on Friday 24th January at lunchtime with at least 150 students in the audience. The final line up not only featured solo and duo singers and dancers but a stand-up comedian from Year 7 as well as a comic duo from Year 8. It was a tough decision for judges but in third place was Shahidah  from Year 7 singing MIIA’s Dynasty, second was Farhan also from Year 7 who performed a solo contemporary dance with feature some gymnastics to the song Pure Imagination. In first place was a previous winner of this event with a special voice Krista this time accompanied by her fellow Year 10 Abigail on the ukulele - it was absolutely lovely.

We can’t wait for the next Denbigh’s Got Talent.
