SCIENCE

Biology
Biology is the study of living organisms and their interactions with each other and the environment. Studying biology will introduce students to the fundamental structure and behaviour of all living organisms, allowing them to hypothesise the long term implications of human interaction with the environment. The skills and knowledge students will obtain in this subject will provide them with a core foundation of expertise. This will make them valued assets in industries that require a high standard of analytical skills and understanding of the natural environment, for example the forensic, education, conservation and medical industries.

Chemistry
Chemistry is the study of the composition, structure and properties of matter. Studying chemistry will expose students to a huge variety of content and skills and will also support their understanding of other areas of science. Having a great depth of knowledge in the behaviour of matter improves student versatility as they are able to make predictions that are supported by scientific understanding. This ability to problem solve and hypothesise an outcome for different situations will make students indispensable in forensic, medical, engineering and pharmaceutical industries.

Physics
Physics is the study of the nature and properties that we see around us in our day to day lives. Studying physics stretches the mind of students and allows them to think more deeply about what they are observing around them . The subsequent depth of understanding grants students access to careers in exciting industries such as engineering, aviation, medicine and information technology, where the skills they have developed over the course of their studies will be put to use in improving the world around us.
